Seven alleged cohorts of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, who are facing non-bailable qualified trafficking charges, have surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
According to NBI Director Jaime Santiago, five surrendered to NBI Central Luzon while two turned themselves in to NBI Task Force Alice Guo.
Santiago identified the surrendered individuals as officials of Hongsheng and Zun Yuan, corporations he described as "bogus corporations" linked to Guo.
The arrests stem from warrants issued by the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 167 against several of Guo's co-accused.
Four of those who surrendered were subjects of these arrest warrants.
The NBI Director stated that the surrendered individuals claim they were merely used, but that their justifications will be determined during the trial.
The NBI continues to search for those still at large, most of whom are reportedly Chinese.
