Senate finalizes committee chairmanships for 20th Congress

The Senate has finalized committee chairmanships for the 20th Congress, with majority members securing key leadership roles.

Senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Pia Cayetano, Robin Padilla, Imee Marcos, and Bong Go have secured the most Senate committee chairmanships.

Alan Cayetano earned four committees, including Justice and Human Rights, while Pia Cayetano chairs Ways and Means and Sustainable Development Goals.

Robin Padilla chairs Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes, Cultural Communities and Muslim Affairs, and Public Information and Mass Media.

Imee Marcos retained Foreign Relations and Cooperatives, and added the Labor, Employment and Human Resources Development Committee.

Bong Go remains chair of Health and Demography, Sports, and Youth Committees.

Senator Rodante Marcoleta has been appointed as the Chair of the Blue Ribbon Committee and also chairs the Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship.

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian will chair the Finance Committee.

Neophyte Senator Camille Villar is the new Chair of the Committee on Environment.

Senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan obtained their requested committee chairmanships, leading Basic Education and Agriculture, respectively.
