Marcoleta elected Blue Ribbon committee chair

Senator Rodante Marcoleta has been elected as the new chairman of the Senate committee on accountability of public officers and investigations, also known as the Blue Ribbon committee.

He will also chair the Senate trade, commerce and entrepreneurship committee.

Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino secured their favored committee posts in agriculture, food and agrarian reform, and basic education, respectively.

Sherwin Gatchalian, who previously chaired the basic education committee, will now lead the powerful Senate finance committee.

Former social welfare secretary Erwin Tulfo will chair the committees on social justice, welfare and rural development, and games and amusements.

Neophyte Senator Camille Villar will chair the environment, natural resources and climate change committee.
