Alice Guo cited in contempt by Senate for second time

The Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality cited dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo in contempt for the second time on Monday, September 9.

Senators confronted Guo with NBI documents showing her fingerprints matching those of Guo Hua Ping, a Chinese national, which she denied.

Senator Risa Hontiveros stated that Guo's insistence that she is not Guo Hua Ping and her continued deception demonstrate a blatant defiance of the Senate's constitutional power of inquiry.

Guo also told senators that she has received multiple death threats but refused to name the perpetrator, citing safety concerns.

She appeared before the Senate after being deported from Indonesia on Friday, September 6, and had previously been cited in contempt and faced an arrest order for her absence from previous hearings.

Her sister, Shiela, was also recently arrested in Indonesia, and Guo stated she fled the Philippines via yacht.
