Senate approves transfer of ex-DPWH exec Brice Hernandez to Pasay City Jail

The Senate approved the transfer of former DPWH assistant district engineer Brice Hernandez from the PNP Custodial Center to the Pasay City Jail on Wednesday night.

Hernandez was cited for contempt and ordered detained by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee for allegedly lying under oath during the investigation into questionable flood control projects.

He was initially detained at the PNP Custodial Center after appealing to the House of Representatives not to be returned to the Senate's custody.

The transfer occurred around 8:50 p.m., with Hernandez escorted by Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, PSPG, and BJMP personnel.

Hernandez was wearing a bulletproof vest during the transfer and did not speak with the media present.

His legal counsel was also present but declined to comment.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III clarified that Hernandez remains under the Senate's security and legal custody despite the change in detention facility.
