Sen. Padilla's office denies plan to probe Sandro Marcos

Senator Robin Padilla's office has denied circulating social media posts claiming he planned to investigate House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos.

Padilla's office stated that the online posts are false and represent another instance of fake news.

The Senate committees chaired by Padilla have no involvement in issues concerning the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) or the Blue Ribbon Committee, as these fall outside their jurisdiction.

Senator Padilla therefore does not wish to pre-empt any actions by the ICI or the Blue Ribbon Committee regarding these matters.

Padilla's office clarified that it lacks the authority to subpoena individuals on issues beyond the scope of his committees' mandates.

The public is urged to verify information from official sources to avoid being misled by fabricated claims.

This clarification comes after Representative Marcos expressed willingness to appear before the ICI following allegations linking him to anomalous budget insertions.
