Sen Padilla files bill integrating life skills into early education

Senator Robinhood Padilla filed Senate Bill No. 1300, the "Anti-Pabebe Act of 2025," to integrate practical life skills, values formation, and environmental awareness into early education.

The bill aims to equip children with resilience and coping mechanisms for modern life, especially in response to internet engagement.

Mandatory hands-on activities and practical demonstrations, such as basic agriculture, sewing, cooking, household skills, carpentry, and woodwork, will be incorporated into the curriculum.

Senator Padilla explained that changing cultures and technology have made traditional methods of passing on life skills difficult.

He added that institutionalizing these skills within the curriculum aligns with global best practices that show systematic life skills education enhances psychological and social competence, mental well-being, reduces behavioral risks, and fosters responsible citizenship.
