Sen. Imee Marcos unfazed by Duterte's 'killing senators' joke

Senator Imee Marcos stated she is not threatened by former President Rodrigo Duterte's remark about "killing senators," attributing it to his "Davao trash talk" and her perceived favor with him.

She suggested that senators who are not "loved" by Duterte might be considered hindrances, implying she does not feel threatened as she believes she is well-loved.

Duterte made his controversial joke during a PDP-Laban senatorial proclamation rally, humorously suggesting that eliminating incumbent senators would create more openings for his endorsed candidates.

The remark has led to a complaint for inciting to sedition and unlawful utterances being filed against Duterte before the Department of Justice by the PNP-CIG director.

Despite the complaint, some allies of Duterte, like former LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra III, have dismissed the statement as a mere "joke" that elicited laughter.
