Duterte suggests killing senators to fill PDP-Laban posts

Former President Rodrigo Duterte suggested during a PDP-Laban rally that killing senators would create vacancies, potentially allowing their party's candidates to enter the Senate.

Duterte made the controversial statement while endorsing SAGIP Party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta for a Senate seat, humorously stating that eliminating fifteen senators would guarantee all PDP-Laban candidates could win.

Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa defended Duterte, stating that the former president was merely joking and did not literally mean his remarks.

Dela Rosa argued that if Duterte truly intended to kill senators, he would not have announced it publicly.

At the same rally, Duterte also accused President Marcos anew of being addicted to illegal drugs.

Duterte's Senate slate consists of nine candidates, including Senators Ronald dela Rosa and Bong Go.
