Sen. Imee Marcos opposes Remulla's Ombudsman bid, calls it 'Plan C'

Senator Imee Marcos announced her opposition to Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remulla's bid for the Ombudsman position, calling it "Plan C."

Marcos alleged that Remulla's nomination is part of a strategy by "political forces" to disqualify or imprison Vice President Sara Duterte before the 2028 presidential race.

She stated that this plan follows the "collapse of a people's initiative to amend the Constitution and the impeachment attempt against Duterte."

Marcos claimed Remulla is being considered for the Ombudsman post despite pending administrative and criminal complaints against him.

She vowed to oppose Remulla's nomination before the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC), warning that appointing him would weaponize the office against Duterte and her allies.

Marcos predicted that "plunder" would be the focus, resulting in non-bailable imprisonment until 2028.

Justice Secretary Remulla stated he would ask the Office of the Ombudsman to resolve a complaint filed against him by Marcos concerning the arrest and turnover of former president Rodrigo Duterte to the International Criminal Court.
