LPA east of Quezon may become tropical depression in 24 hours

A low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) now has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within 24 hours.

As of Tuesday, September 16, 2025, 11 a.m., the LPA was monitored 275 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon.

This LPA is expected to bring scattered rain and thunderstorms to Bicol, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.

In the next 48 hours, provinces in the path of the potential tropical cyclone may experience the most rainfall as it moves generally northwest.

Another LPA, located 655 km west of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro, is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

The trough of this second LPA is causing scattered rain and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Mimaropa, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of Calabarzon, and the rest of the Visayas.

Easterlies are also forecast to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms to the Ilocos Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
