SC suspends court ops in QC, Makati, Las Piñas due to INC rally

The Supreme Court (SC) announced the suspension of court operations in Quezon City, Makati, and Las Piñas on November 18.

This suspension is due to the ongoing Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) rally against corruption, which is causing traffic congestion.

Regional Trial Courts (RTCs) and Metropolitan Trial Courts (MeTCs) in these cities will operate remotely through a work-from-home arrangement.

Personnel of RTCs in San Juan will also shift to remote work.

A skeleton workforce will be maintained in the affected courts to handle urgent matters.

The INC rally, which has drawn around 110,000 members at the Quirino Grandstand, has resulted in the collection of at least 19 tons of trash from the site.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has deployed medical teams and attended to 318 patients as of yesterday afternoon.
