INC members rally for transparency, protest corruption

Thousands of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) members participated in a rally at the Quirino Grandstand to protest corruption and advocate for better governance, themed "Transparency for a Better Democracy."

The rally, initially planned for three days from November 16 to 18, 2025, concluded on Monday, November 17, 2025, a day earlier than scheduled.

INC spokesperson Edwil Zabala stated that the rally's goal of sending a message calling for justice, accountability, transparency, and peace was achieved, negating the need for the full three days, and that members were also tired.

Crowd estimates on Monday, November 17, peaked at about 550,000 to over 600,000 participants, with the highest number recorded around 7 p.m.

Bienvenido Santiago Jr., the church's general evangelist, emphasized that the protest aimed to call for concrete actions to end corruption in flood control projects, not the government's downfall.

The INC denied claims of participants being paid to attend, and the acting Philippine National Police chief stated that officers securing the protest would use body-worn cameras.

Despite the early wrap-up, some participants remained on-site overnight to prepare for their travel back to their provinces.
