San Juan City starts COVID-19 vaccination drive

San Juan City has commenced its COVID-19 vaccination drive, beginning with the inoculation of two doctors and a hospital official at Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC).

The vaccination effort started with 300 doses of Sinovac's CoronaVac, with an additional 300 doses allocated for medical frontliners at San Juan Medical Center.

San Juan Medical Center director Retired Gen. Doctor Joseph Acosta was the first one who received the first COVID vaccine shot in the SJMC.

Mayor Francisco Zamora highlighted the symbolic significance of the vaccination drive beginning at CSMC, the site of the Philippines' first confirmed local COVID-19 transmission one year prior.

He expressed optimism that the vaccination process will be a crucial factor in combating the ongoing pandemic and encouraged residents to sign up for the city's free vaccination program.
