San Juan City Mayor Zamora finishes COVID-19 isolation

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, who tested positive for COVID-19 on February 28, will finish his self-isolation on Sunday, March 14.

He remained asymptomatic and in good health throughout his quarantine period.

Zamora proactively admitted himself to a hospital to prevent infecting his family, especially his wife who is a cancer survivor.

He encouraged others who tested positive to immediately leave their homes to avoid infecting family members, noting a recent increase in family infections within the city.

This development comes as the Philippines recorded its highest number of active COVID-19 cases since October 24, with 44,470 active infections and a total of 603,308 cases reported.

The country is currently in its second week of COVID-19 vaccinations.
