San Juan City begins 3rd round of COVID-19 inoculation for medical frontliners

San Juan City commenced its third round of COVID-19 inoculation on Tuesday, prioritizing 629 medical front-liners from public hospitals and private clinics.

Front-liners had the option to receive either the CoronaVac or AstraZeneca vaccine.

The first to get vaccinated was Dr. Margaret Aguilar, an ophthalmologist from San Juan Medical Center (SJMC), who chose SinoVac because she wants to protect her patients and herself.

A total of 1,464 medical workers from three healthcare facilities had already received their first doses in earlier vaccination days.

The national vaccination priority list places health workers (A1) at the top of the inoculation order, followed by senior citizens (A2), individuals with comorbidities (A3), essential front-line personnel (A4), and the indigent population (A5).

The city government specified that those inoculated were part of Priority Group A1.5, which includes DOH employees, City Health Office employees, DepEd healthcare workers, DRRMO employees, Barangay Health Workers, and BHERT members involved in the city's COVID-19 response.
