Roque dares Robredo to offer COVID-19 solution sans vaccine

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque challenged Vice President Leni Robredo to propose a solution to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that does not rely on a vaccine or cure, suggesting she might become president if she succeeds.

Robredo had previously criticized President Duterte's assertion that a vaccine is the only solution to the pandemic.

She argued that medical and non-medical measures should be pursued to suppress the pandemic, disagreeing with Duterte's suggestion of spraying pesticides from an airplane.

Roque accused Robredo and the opposition of dismissing the government's efforts to expand testing, establish more isolation centers, and improve the health facility referral system under the One Hospital Command.

Roque stated that Robredo refused to accept that the national government is already making interventions to slow down the spread of the infection and open up the economy to provide livelihood to those affected by coronavirus-related lockdowns.

According to Roque, Robredo and other opposition members seemed unaware of the government's COVID-19 response efforts.
