Palace dismisses VP Robredo's criticism of COVID-19 response

Malacañang stated that Vice President Leni Robredo is entitled to her opinion regarding the government's COVID-19 response.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque dismissed Robredo's criticism that the national government "has no system in place" for its COVID-19 response.

Roque asserted that despite criticism, President Duterte's supporters continue to trust the administration's handling of the pandemic.

Robredo's spokesperson, Barry Gutierrez, rebutted Roque's remark, stating that Robredo's criticisms are detached from politics and that the focus should be on Filipinos working together to overcome the pandemic.

Gutierrez stressed that the issue of the supposed shortcomings in the government's COVID-19 efforts should not be dismissed as mere politicking.

Robredo had previously stated that the lack of a system and cohesive plan in addressing the health crisis is a bigger problem than Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
