Romualdez awaits Sara Duterte's official stance on opposition

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez stated that he does not yet consider Vice President Sara Duterte as part of the opposition, awaiting her official pronouncement.

Romualdez clarified that former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque's statements about Duterte potentially becoming an opposition leader were just Roque's own views.

The Speaker mentioned that any policy statements or pronouncements regarding her stance would need to come directly from the Vice President herself.

Romualdez expressed respect for Duterte's decision to resign from her position as Education Secretary.

He also shared that he misses their closer interactions, recalling his role as her campaign manager during the 2022 elections.

Romualdez noted that their interactions as members of different branches of government were limited, primarily to budget hearings.
