Robredo wants probe into unauthorized vax of PSG, Cabinet

Vice President Leni Robredo is calling for transparency and accountability regarding the unauthorized vaccination of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) and Cabinet members with COVID-19 vaccines.

Robredo emphasized that these unregistered vaccines were able to enter the country without passing through proper government agencies like the Bureau of Customs, the Department of Health, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which has not issued any emergency use authorization.

President Duterte confirmed that some individuals in government received Sinopharm vaccines, which are not on the Philippines' initial list of vaccines being considered.

Robredo expressed concern that such actions, especially from those in power, undermine public confidence in vaccination efforts and create a perception that smuggling is acceptable.

She stated that the controversy arises at a critical time when the administration should be building public trust and focusing on securing authorized vaccines for priority groups.
