Robredo rules out Senate run, may seek presidency

Vice President Leni Robredo has announced that she will not be running for a Senate seat in the upcoming 2022 elections.

Robredo stated that the Senate is not her "strength" and she would prefer to seek a local position or potentially retire if she decides against a presidential bid.

While ruling out a Senate run, Robredo remains open to the possibility of seeking the presidency, a decision she has yet to finalize.

She expressed gratitude for the public's trust and support for a potential presidential candidacy, emphasizing that she is giving the matter serious consideration.

Robredo is currently engaged in discussions with various groups to broaden her base and involve them in her decision-making process for the 2022 polls.

She also mentioned that she is willing to support Manila Mayor Isko Moreno for president and Senator Manny Pacquiao for vice president if they become the choice of the opposition coalition.

Robredo believes the 2022 election is very important due to the danger of those in power continuing and the potential return of a Marcos to the presidency.
