Rob Deniel releases rendition of Ogie Alcasid's 'Ikaw Sana'

OPM singer-songwriter Rob Deniel has released his own rendition of Ogie Alcasid's classic hit "Ikaw Sana."

The new single is now accessible on various music streaming services and features a performance video premiering on YouTube.

Deniel's rendition of "Nandito Ako" during a Wish Awards tribute honoring Alcasid as the KDR Icon of Musical Excellence went viral.

This resurgence in interest, boosted by younger artists like Deniel covering his songs, helped Alcasid surpass 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Alcasid expressed gratitude to Deniel for introducing his songs to a younger audience, noting a significant jump in his Spotify listeners after Deniel's viral performance.

The collaboration between the two artists was also highlighted when they performed "Ikaw Saya" together on "It's Showtime."

Deniel, who previously released his debut single "Ulap" during the pandemic, is also known for other original compositions like "Ang Pag-Ibig" and "Gabi."
