Businessman arrested for murder after road rage shooting

Businessman Kenneth Alajar Bautista, 28, was arrested following a road rage incident on Marcos Highway in Antipolo City on March 30, 2025.

The altercation began as a traffic dispute, escalating when Bautista allegedly fired his 9mm firearm, injuring his live-in partner Camille, their child, and two motorcycle riders.

One of the motorcycle riders, identified only by the alias Peter, died on March 31, 2025, from a gunshot wound to the head while undergoing treatment.

Three of the victims, including Bautista's partner Camille, have been discharged from the hospital.

Charges of multiple frustrated homicide against Bautista have been upgraded to murder following the rider's death.

Bautista also faces charges for violations of the Omnibus Election Code and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, despite his firearm being licensed.

Eight Antipolo police officers were awarded medals for their response to the shooting incident.
