Ricky Lee book launch features Michael V, Judy Ann Santos, Jericho Rosales

National Artist Ricky Lee personally selected artists to interpret excerpts from his books, Agaw-Tingin and Pinilakang Tabing, at the Manila International Book Fair 2025.

The book launch at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay featured readings by Michael V, Jolina Magdangal, Judy Ann Santos, Jericho Rosales, and Kyline Alcantara, along with musical performances by Dulce and Arman Ferrer.

Judy Ann Santos noted the timeless and tragic relevance of Lee's stories, observing that societal issues have worsened and those in power seem to lack conscience and compassion.

Kyline Alcantara expressed her gratitude to Lee, calling his works an inspiration that reflects society and human emotions.

Meanwhile, Vilma Santos experienced her first book signing event for "Vilma Santos, Icon (Essays on Cinema, Culture & Society)" at the same book fair.

The scholarly book from the University of Santo Tomas Publishing House, edited by Augusto Aguila and Joselito Zulueta, offers an in-depth analysis of Santos's extensive body of work.
