Palace sees need to extend Duterte’s emergency powers
Cagayan de Oro City Representative Rufus Rodriguez is proposing a three-month extension, until September, of President Rodrigo Duterte's special authority under the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act.

Malacañang also sees the necessity to extend these powers, with Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stating it is needed until September.
Roque emphasized that without a vaccine, the country will not return to normal, thus the continued need for extraordinary measures.
