Albay Representative Joey Salceda has filed his Certificate of Candidacy for governor of Albay in the 2025 elections.

His lawyer, Jong Bonafe, filed the COC on his behalf at the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Albay office on Tuesday morning, October 1.

Salceda is running under the Lakas-CMD party.

His chosen running mate for vice governor is Farida "Diday" Co, the sister of Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co.

Salceda previously served as governor of Albay from 2007 to 2016, during which Albay was recognized as a disaster risk reduction and management champion and ranked first in tourism.

He also cited the completion of the Bicol International Airport as a key accomplishment during his time as representative.

If elected governor again, Salceda plans to pursue international flights for the Bicol International Airport and initiate infrastructure projects, including bridges connecting Albay's islands to the mainland.
