Rep. Ferdinand Hernandez elected Senior Deputy Speaker of the House

South Cotabato Representative Ferdinand Hernandez has been elected as the new Senior Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, succeeding Quezon Representative David "Jayjay" Suarez.

Suarez was demoted to the post previously held by Hernandez, that of Deputy Speaker.

Hernandez, a lawyer and member of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, also chairs the SALN Review and Compliance Committee.

He was elected Deputy Speaker in October, after Speaker Bojie Dy replaced Martin Romualdez.

Suarez, an ally of Romualdez, served as Senior Deputy Speaker for less than four months.

Hernandez previously held no leadership posts before his October election as Deputy Speaker.
