Rep. Adiong questions vlogger's claim of honor after contempt citation

Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong questioned vlogger Sass Rogando Sasot's claim of honor after a congressional committee cited her for contempt.

Sasot had stated on Facebook that she was honored to be held in contempt by what she described as a "very corrupt" House of Representatives.

Adiong retorted that Sasot and other vloggers lack the honor to face a legitimate investigation into misinformation and disinformation on social media.

He emphasized that true honor involves the courage to face charges and explain one's statements under oath, not just online bravery.

The House tri-committee cited Sasot, Jeffrey Celiz, and Lorraine Badoy for contempt, which comes with an arrest order, for failing to attend hearings despite multiple summons.

Vlogger Mark Lopez was also cited for contempt and ordered detained for "undue interference during the proceedings" after attacking the House panel on social media.
