RDRRMC deploys teams for Tropical Storm Man-yi

The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) in Eastern Visayas deployed two response teams to Eastern Samar and Northern Samar in preparation for Tropical Storm Man-yi, locally known as Pepito.

Pepito entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday night, November 14.

Each eight-member team consists of personnel from the Office of Civil Defense, DILG, DSWD, Philippine Air Force, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Army, and Philippine National Police.

The teams are stationed in Oras, Eastern Samar, and Catarman, Northern Samar, to ensure effective communication and coordination between local government units and the RDRRMC and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

While the region might not experience a direct hit, the storm's tail-end is predicted to cause rainfall in the northern parts of Eastern Samar and Northern Samar.

These areas are particularly vulnerable due to already saturated soil from previous weather disturbances, raising concerns about potential flooding.

The deployment aims to support local government units and facilitate rapid information relay for aid augmentation.
