Import Aaron Fuller was instrumental in the late-game surge, delivering 24 points and 20 rebounds.

Jhonard Clarito also steadied the ship with 20 points, including crucial free throws down the stretch.

Caelan Tiongson hit a clutch triple with 1:25 left to give Rain or Shine the lead.

Magnolia's import Rayvonte Rice finished with 16 points but shot 6-of-20 from the field.

Jerrick Ahanmisi contributed 15 points for Magnolia, hitting six of 12 four-point shots.

Rain or Shine now leads the best-of-five series 1-0, with Game 2 scheduled for Friday in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
