Quiapo Church to bless Black Nazarene replicas and banners on Jan 3

Quiapo Church will bless replicas and banners of the Black Nazarene on January 3 as part of preparations for the annual Traslacion on January 9.

The blessing ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m., and devotees are reminded that there will be no procession of the banners and images today, only the blessing.

Three entry routes have been designated for devotees bringing their replicas and banners to the church.

Widespread road closures will be implemented in Manila in anticipation of the January 9 Traslacion, with traffic restrictions beginning as early as 5 p.m. on January 8 for southbound trips.

Several major roads, including Independence Road to Katigbak Drive, portions of Roxas Boulevard and Padre Burgos, Ayala Bridge, Carlos Palanca Street to Globo de Oro, Solano Street, and Padilla Street, are scheduled for temporary closure.

P. Casal Street up to Mendiola and Legarda will remain closed to regular traffic to ensure access for emergency vehicles and rescue teams.
