Quezon City opens 2 new quarantine facilities

Quezon City will open two new quarantine facilities, HOPE 4 and HOPE 5, next week to accommodate an additional 403 mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 cases, increasing its capacity to at least 900 patients.

The Quezon City General Hospital will house HOPE 4, a 336-bed facility that will also dedicate 10 beds and four dialysis machines for dialysis patients.

HOPE 5, located at Talipapa Senior High School, will provide 67 beds for mild and asymptomatic cases.

Mayor Joy Belmonte stated that increasing quarantine facilities is crucial for controlling COVID-19 spread, especially for those who cannot self-isolate at home.

Quezon City has seen a rise in COVID-19 cases, with 2,233 active cases reported.

The city government is also partnering with the Department of Public Works and Highways to establish two additional facilities.
