Mega quarantine facility to rise in Laguna
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, along with National Action Plan Against Covid-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez and deputy chief implementer Secretary Vince Dizon, inspected a mega-quarantine facility in Calamba, Laguna.
The facility, housed in a four-storey Calabarzon Regional Government Center, is being transformed into a coronavirus disease (Covid-19) quarantine facility with 553 cubicles, nurse stations, quarters for healthcare workers, and amenities for patients.
It is expected to begin operations by early September, according to officials.
Health Secretary Duque stated that the facility will boost the government's containment efforts by increasing bed capacity for isolation and quarantine alongside ramped-up testing.
He also emphasized that the fight against COVID-19 is a collective effort, involving everyone in the country.
