QC Mayor Belmonte, 2 employees test positive for COVID-19

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and two other employees have tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (QCESU) to conduct contact tracing and swab testing.

The QCESU will test employees from the third and 14th floors of the Quezon City Hall, along with any visitors who had direct contact with the mayor and the other infected employees.

Individuals undergoing swab testing will be required to undergo home quarantine until their results are released, which are expected within three days.

Despite the positive cases, City Hall operations will continue normally, and disinfection procedures will be carried out in various areas.

Mayor Belmonte, who is asymptomatic, will work from home and continue to manage the city's health situation while under quarantine.
