QC hires 300 contact tracers to curb Covid-19 spread

The Quezon City government has hired 300 contact tracers to bolster efforts in controlling the spread of Covid-19 within the city.

Mayor Joy Belmonte emphasized that aggressive contact tracing is crucial for identifying individuals exposed to the virus and for testing the appropriate populations.

The newly hired contact tracers are organized into 30 teams, each responsible for identifying individuals who have been in close contact with Covid-19 patients over the past two weeks.

The primary goal of these teams is to educate and inform exposed individuals about essential quarantine protocols to mitigate further transmission.

All 300 contact tracers have completed a comprehensive one-day training program covering tracing protocols, the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and effective communication techniques for interviews.
