PSC, MVPSF inaugurate upgraded weightlifting facility

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) unveiled an upgraded weightlifting facility at the Baguio City Training Hub for national athletes.

The upgrade, valued at P2.2 million, was funded by the MVP Sports Foundation, which also supported the renovation of the training hub.

PSC Chairman Patrick Gregorio highlighted the importance of timely facility openings for athletes' training, expressing hope for continued private sector support.

MVPSF Executive Director Paulo Trillo affirmed the foundation's commitment to supporting the PSC and national athletes through future programs.

In addition to the facility upgrades, the PSC board approved a P5,000 monthly stipend increase for national athletes and coaches, effective next month.

Olympic bronze medalist Aira Villegas and Muay Thai world champion Islay Erika Bomogao expressed gratitude and vowed to enhance their training for the country.
