Project ARK eyes 24,000 daily RT-PCR tests by June

Project ARK, a private sector initiative, aims to add 24,000 RT-PCR tests capacity daily by the end of June to complement the government's testing efforts.

The initiative aims to further increase daily testing to 24,000 RT-PCR tests daily nationwide by the end of June.

Project ARK's PCR initiative will automate 12 laboratories in various hospitals and health facilities across the country within a month of its launch.

Beyond PCR testing, Project ARK's Rapid Antibody Testing (RAT) project has also been instrumental in facilitating contact tracing.

Garin highlighted that the RAT project provides a chance for asymptomatic individuals who test positive to be prioritized for RT-PCR testing.

She acknowledged the significant contributions of Joey Concepcion and his GoNegosyo team, along with the generous assistance from San Miguel Corporation, Ayala Foundation, and the Philippine Red Cross.

In the coming weeks, more laboratories are expected to be activated through the collaborative efforts of GoNegosyo, Ayala Foundation, San Miguel Foundation, and the House of Representatives.
