The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has successfully conducted over two million COVID-19 tests nationwide.
PRC Chairman Senator Richard Gordon announced that the milestone of 2,025,863 individuals tested was reached as of February 27.
The total count includes 2,002,277 COVID-19 tests conducted nationwide, excluding saliva RT-PCR tests.
The PRC has also conducted 23,586 saliva RT-PCR tests, which are considered as effective as the nasopharyngeal swab test.
Gordon highlighted that PRC's COVID-testing laboratories have served 37 percent of Metro Manila.
Dr. Paulyn Ubial, head of PRC's Molecular Laboratory, expressed optimism for increased COVID-19 testing among Filipinos.
