The Philippine National Police (PNP) is enhancing security for the Filipino-Chinese community following the abduction and killing of businessman Anson Que and his driver Armanie Pabillo.
PNP chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil assured the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) of intensified efforts to resolve the case and prevent future incidents.
He stated that the PNP is mobilizing all investigative assets and leveraging every capability to ensure these incidents do not recur.
The PNP is closely coordinating with the Department of Justice and the National Bureau of Investigation through constant information-sharing to expedite the process, identify perpetrators, and ensure they are brought to justice.
A collaborative program between the PNP and FFCCCII will focus on proactive threat detection, improved coordination, intensified surveillance in business districts, and safety briefings.
Since January, the PNP has documented 13 kidnapping cases, with eight involving Chinese nationals as victims.
