2,700 PRO-3 cops to secure SONA

Around 2,700 police personnel from Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) will be deployed as part of Sub Task Group Central Luzon for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 28.

This deployment is under the Philippine National Police's (PNP) Task Force Manila Shield, aimed at strengthening security coordination in and around Metro Manila, particularly at the Batasang Pambansa Complex.

The PNP will implement "Manila Shield," deploying personnel from Calabarzon, Central Luzon, and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) for border control.

A reserve force will be on standby for additional personnel if needed.

The NCRPO has been directed to conduct a thorough threat assessment to determine any necessary adjustments to the security template and provide updated estimates on potential rally participants.

PRO-3 chief Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. assured that personnel are trained to exercise maximum tolerance and uphold principles of discipline, professionalism, and respect for human rights.
