PNP to go tech-driven and apolitical by 2025

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil has pledged to transform the agency into a technology-driven and apolitical organization by 2025.

This initiative aims to strengthen the PNP's efforts in combating private armed groups and loose firearms, especially with the upcoming national and local elections in May.

Key technological advancements for 2025 include the deployment of body-worn cameras, the implementation of real-time crime mapping, and the enhancement of cybercrime prevention units.

The PNP chief highlighted the indispensable role of technology, including advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, in modern law enforcement and ensuring public safety.
