PNP submits new evidence on online sabong disappearances to DOJ

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has submitted new evidence to the Department of Justice (DOJ) concerning the disappearance of individuals linked to online sabong operations.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) provided five flash drives, including witness affidavits, to prosecutors.

One piece of evidence is the sworn statement of Gleer Codilla, a suspect in the kidnapping of sabungeros at the Manila Arena cockpit.

Whistle-blower Julie Patidongan has tagged gaming tycoon Charlie "Atong" Ang as the alleged mastermind and implicated actress Gretchen Barretto.

PNP Acting Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated that the new evidence is crucial for building a strong and credible case and establishing accountability.

This submission supports existing charges of murder and kidnapping with serious illegal detention filed against Ang, Barretto, and others.
