PNP sets up desks in Taal evac centers

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar has ordered the establishment of police assistance desks in evacuation centers in Batangas to ensure the safety and health of residents displaced by the seismic activities of Taal Volcano.

Over 1,600 evacuees are currently housed in at least 10 evacuation centers across Laurel, Talisay, Balete, and Agoncillo.

The PNP aims to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission within the evacuation centers.

Police COVID-19 protocol officers will work with local health offices to enforce minimum public health safety protocols.

Eleazar commended the Regional Director of Police Region Office 4A and the Batangas Provincial Police Office head for their swift response and care for the affected residents.
