PNP rescues foreign national, busts kidnap-for-ransom ring in Batangas

The Philippine National Police (PNP) dismantled a kidnap-for-ransom ring and rescued a foreign national in Batangas.

The victim was abducted in Parañaque City on July 1, lured into a trap during a supposed vehicle transaction by suspects posing as buyers.

The organized criminal group, composed of both foreign and local individuals, took control of the victim's vehicle and demanded ransom.

Following the report, the PNP's Anti-Kidnapping Group initiated a multi-agency response involving surveillance and intelligence gathering.

On July 13, the victim was safely rescued from a safehouse in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

Twelve suspects, including six Chinese nationals, were arrested during the rescue and subsequent follow-up operations in Pasay, Makati, and Imus, Cavite.
