PNP-AKG nabs 12 suspects in Chinese national kidnapping

Twelve suspects, including six Filipinos and six Chinese nationals, were arrested by the PNP-AKG for the kidnapping of a Chinese national in Parañaque City.

The victim, a construction supply businessman from Taguig City, was abducted on July 1 in front of a condominium in Parañaque City, and his cousin reported the incident on July 3.

The victim's family in China sent millions to the kidnappers via online transfer to a cryptocurrency account.

PNP operatives rescued the victim in a safehouse in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

The 12 suspects were apprehended in follow-up operations in Pasay, Makati, and Cavite.

Authorities are conducting hot pursuit operations to track down other suspects who remain at large.

The AKG noted that the arrest of these suspects prevented them from engaging in another planned kidnapping.
