PNP reports 4 more COVID-19 deaths, toll now 96

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported four additional deaths due to coronavirus disease (Covid-19), increasing the total death toll within the police force to 96 as of Tuesday, August 17.

The latest fatalities include a 49-year-old policeman from Central Visayas who died on August 14, and a 34-year-old partially vaccinated policeman from the National Capital Region who died on August 16.

Another victim was a 41-year-old policeman from Central Visayas who succumbed to critical pneumonia on August 15 after testing positive for Covid-19 on July 30.

A 48-year-old policewoman assigned to Camp Crame died on August 14 after her condition worsened and she was transferred to a hospital.

As of August 17, 81,125 PNP personnel are fully vaccinated, while 95,345 are awaiting their second dose, and 45,700 have not been vaccinated.
