Number of coronavirus-infected PNP personnel climbs to 440
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recorded a total of 440 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases among its personnel.
Seven police officers have died from COVID-19, with the latest fatalities originating from Cebu City.
Of the total infected personnel, 258 have recovered from the disease.
The PNP also lists 699 probable COVID-19 cases and 874 suspected cases.
To combat the spread of COVID-19, the police launched an RT/PCR facility operated by personnel from the PNP Crime Laboratory and PNP Health Service.
Isolation facilities are available within Camp Crame for self-quarantine, and other regional offices are encouraged to establish their own quarantine sites.
