PNP on standby for BARMM midterm elections

A total of 3,698 police personnel are on standby to serve as special electoral boards (SEBs) in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for the May 2025 midterm elections.

These trained police officers could serve in areas where teachers and other poll workers could not reach during the elections.

The PNP has deployed 182,000 personnel to secure the polls, with an additional 37,817 personnel from other law enforcement agencies.

The PNP confirmed they are 'all hands on deck' for the upcoming May 12 polls, and COMELEC Chairman George Garcia expressed confidence in the peaceful and orderly conduct of the midterm elections.

Polling precincts will open early on Election Day, May 12, starting at 5 a.m. for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant registered voters until 7 a.m.
