She tested positive for COVID-19 on March 12 and was initially quarantined before being transferred to Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center on March 17 due to difficulty breathing.

The officer was placed on a mechanical ventilator on March 18 and experienced seizures on March 19.

Despite resuscitation efforts, she was declared dead at 5:38 a.m. on March 20, along with her unborn child.

PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas, who also tested positive for COVID-19, urged personnel, especially pregnant officers working from home, to strictly observe health protocols due to their vulnerability.
