PNP reserve force on standby to assist in ECQ vaccination -- Eleazar
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has placed its Medical Reserve Force (MRF) on standby to support the vaccination efforts during the upcoming Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila.
PNP Chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar stated that the MRF is prepared to provide additional manpower for the vaccination rollout, which aims to inoculate 250,000 individuals daily during the ECQ period.
Eleazar also directed the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to prepare for the deployment of extra police personnel and develop a contingency plan for vaccination operations.
Furthermore, PNP assets will be readied to assist in the transportation of vaccines to different locations.
The decision to place Metro Manila under strict quarantine from August 6 to 20 was deemed a necessary measure by Eleazar to safeguard the public from the more contagious Delta variant of COVID-19.
